Imo the kph40 is more similar in signature and bass response while also bringing the airy treble of the ksc75. It's the best of both worlds and my fav atm but nonetheless they're all amazing especially for their price! 16 votes, 13 comments. 306K subscribers in the HeadphoneAdvice community. Yes it is worth it. The frequency response difference was also compared in a recent post here the other day. The Yaxi pads bring up the treble, and help to balance out the bass. On stock pads the Porta Pros are too muddy and muffled to me, but on Yaxi they sound so much more open and closer to KSC75's. wmplus. I’m a student from the Philippines and I’m looking for an alternative to my porta pro. I am good with the audio and the weight but I wear glasses and the foam at the temple gave we so much headache even if I tried to open up the band. My ears are also on the bigger protruding side. Koss is brighter, Sennheiser is warmer. Pick your poison. *edit* to clarify, Koss KSC75 is the brightest due to slightly modded drivers vs. Porta Pro and Sporta Pro, and Sennheiser PX100 is warmest sounding. I am blown away by how good this combination sounds. The Porta Pro is my least favorite out of the six Koss headphone models I owned. My favorite is the ESP950, which is way more expensivebut my second favorite is the KTXPRO1: a semi-open on-ear that has almost the same drivers as the Porta Pro, but coated with titanium and perhaps a slightly different shape. It doesn’t have the best soundstage or resolution. But what the Porta Pro excels at is being an almost unbelievably good-enough jack-of-all-trades. Full disclosure: I still drive an old sports car made in 1984 I love the porta pros because they’re lightweight and have an image that fits a y2k/retro tech aesthetic that I’m fond of. Unfortunately, the porta pros have issues with sound leaking and I’m not willing to sacrifice that for the aesthetic. Are there any good alternatives I can look into? .
